The Rota Vicentina is a network of footpaths in Sw Portugal, totaling 400 km to walk along one of the most beautiful and best preserved coastal areas of southern Europe. Formed by the Historical Path, Rail and Fisherman various routes Circulars, offers a unique experience of these two worlds, between a living and authentic rural culture and a surprisingly wild coast - fully within the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina.
The route is fully marked and can be traversed in both directions, in full autonomy and security, preferably between the months of September to June. The steps are merely indicative and may be shortened or extended depending on your preference.
In February 2016, the Historic Path of Rota Vicentina was awarded the European Certification "Leading Quality Trails - Best of Europe", the ERA of responsibility - European Ramblers Association - integrating the exclusive lot of the best hiking destinations in Europe.
